Overview
A climate focused metroidvania created during the Indiecade 2025 Climate Jam, a 2-month long game jam focused with a climate based theme. This years theme was natural and unnatural disasters. This game was created in a small team of <10 people, working on various roles.
For this project I worked as a programmer and gameplay designer, and then transitioned into a level designer later on into the project. I worked primarily on designing the core mechanics of the game and how they would interact with the metroidvania style gameplay as well matching the overall themes and aesthetics of the world created by the writers and artists.
The team was mostly consisting of individual who were new to game development, so a lot of work was put in helping them understand how to build a game in unity. As someone who has lots of experience in unity, it was also one of my roles to teach each member what was needed and how it should be done. This took away from development which ended up being rather rushed at the end, but overall the reception was positive and was one of the higher rated submissions for the jam.
